Revisiting the Resistance on England’s Fracking Frontline

There are fewer ribbons tied to the hedgerow, and most of the funny signs are gone. Your help needed

Dear Friends,

Here on the beautiful Fylde Coast in Lancashire, communities have been dealt a sneaky blow by government officials in Whitehall. While our county councillors rightly and democratically refused permission for fracking to happen here, the suits in Westminster decided that they knew better and waved through an offshore banking, private corporation to have access to our land and water, to explore for an additional fossil fuel we don’t need.

Legal actions are still being sought to halt this undemocratic
imposition in our county, but right now, we need to make sure our health is being considered seriously by Public Health England. Their report on fracking was shallow and is now years out-of-date. It didn’t take into account all available evidence. Over three years on, there are hundreds of studies that cite harm to health and the environment from fracking.

Why is our health not being treated as a priority? Our children deserve better.
