In June 2015 Lancashire County Council, after hearing much evidence from both sides, decided to refuse Cuadrilla planning permission to drill and hydraulically fracture (frack) at both Roseacre Wood and Preston New Road. We were exhausted but elated; we believed local democracy had won out. However, just one month later, Cuadrilla appealed those decisions despite much local opposition and no social license. This was followed by a 6 week  Public Inquiry at which an independent Planning Inspector heard the evidence from both sides. T
Unfortunately, the Secretary of State for Communities and Local Government has announced that Fracking can go ahead at Preston New Road, and there will be another Public Inquiry for Roseacre Wood.

Some people think it is not worth fighting but we do not agree. We feel there is a very strong case to refuse, yet again, planning permission at Roseacre Wood.
So far we have raised a considerable amount due to the generosity of our supporters both locally and nationally and the hard work of our fund raising team. However we still have a long way to go and would appreciate any financial support you can give.  Every little bit helps. All the money raised will go directly to our appeals fund.

We are determined to fight the plans to frack in our community and together we will do all we can to stop it from happening.
